In April, TOS Foundation Africa celebrates the selection of its founder as a 2026 Tutu Fellow, a recognition of purpose-driven leadership and sustained impact.
Across its programmes, the work continues: HerCademy is preparing women for political leadership, advocacy for the Reserved Seats for Women Bill is advancing structural reform, and the Saving Our Mothers campaign is driving action on maternal health.
Together, these efforts reflect a clear focus, building systems that work better for women and society.
In March, the TOS Foundation Africa newsletter captures the Foundation’s continued drive to advance women’s leadership through the launch of our HerCademy Leadership Institute, in partnership with the Embassy of Switzerland.
This issue also highlights our ongoing efforts through the WAGE project to improve primary healthcare delivery across Nigeria.
In February, our partnership with the Embassy of Switzerland to launch the HerCademy Leadership Institute strengthened the pipeline of prepared women leaders, while the nationwide rollout of the WAGE PHC Equipping Project advanced state-level health system readiness. Through coordinated media engagements, formal legislative advocacy on HB 1349, and the launch of the forthcoming People Vs policy dialogue platform, we continued to close the gap between policy intent and real-world outcomes, reinforcing its position as a systems builder working at the intersection of governance, inclusion, and institutional reform.
Through our formal partnership with the Nigeria Governors’ Spouses Forum, we aligned our national expertise with subnational delivery structures to accelerate impact under our WAGE framework. At the same time, sustained cross-party engagement, media briefings, and public advocacy continued to build the enabling environment for the Reserved Seats for Women Bill.
Recognition of Founder Chief (Mrs.) Osasu Igbinedion Ogwuche among Africa’s most impactful leaders further underscored the growing influence of our systems-focused approach to inclusive development.
In December, we focused on what we do best, bringing the right people into the room and aligning momentum across the ecosystem for inclusive governance. From securing high-level endorsements for the Reserved Seats for Women Bill to convening regional and legislative dialogues, we worked across sectors to translate advocacy into coordinated action. Investments in media capacity, youth engagement, and community-based health support reflected a deliberate strategy, pairing national reform efforts with grassroots impact.
